CBOCS Annual Meeting Scheduled for July 31, 2013 (date revised)
Dear CBOCS members:
Please join us for the annual meeting of the Chesapeake Beach Oyster Cultivation Society (CBOCS) on July 31, 2013 from 7-8:30 pm at Chesapeake Beach Town Hall to highlight past accomplishments and current activities, as well as, discuss future program directions, opportunities and challenges. To date, our 70-member group has planted over 120,000 oysters in the Bay and will plant another approximately 60,000 yearling oysters this September, assisting federal, state and local efforts to restore oyster populations and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay. Key to the CBOCS mission is supporting environmental education opportunities for our members and the community through: 1) hands-on participation in oyster restoration activities, 2) active support of the environmental curriculum of local schools by assisting with the education of the next generation of Bay stewards, and 3) educational presentations and activities for all. CBOCS is only as strong as its membership. So please join us in sharing ideas and energy as we embark upon our third season, and help shape not only the future of CBOCS, but also that of our community. We look forward to seeing you then! Who's invited: All current members and anyone potentially interested in joining CBOCS; basically anyone interested in being involved with oyster cultivation, Bay restoration or hands-on environmental education.
Sincerely, Keith Pardieck
Chair, CBOCS Steering Committee
