September 2012 Oyster Spat Delivery and Deployment Details

Dear CBOCS Members Friends::

First, thank you for an AWESOME oyster planting event this past Saturday (September 8, 2012)!  Dozens of people helped out and we were able to empty the 26 Buoyant Oyster Cultivation Cages (BOCSes) and plant our yearling oysters in less than 4 hours; we'll be providing more details, and pictures, regarding the planting in a later note. At this time we need to alert you of a location change to next Saturday's (Sept. 15) spat deployment event.

We will NOT be meeting at Abner's Marina on Saturday to deploy the spat as previously announced. Instead we will meet behind the Northeast Community Center near the boat ramps. Same location as last year. But don't worry, the tides will be with us this time! We look forward to seeing you there on Saturday.
